What to wear? Formal Garden Party 🎉

We kindly suggest Formal Garden Attire for our celebration. As our wedding color is green, we invite you to incorporate a touch of green into your outfit if possible.

Friday Night!

Our weekend kicks off with a fun Welcome Dinner and traditional Irish Céilí (Irish trad music and dance) on Friday night. The most important rule for the Céilí is to wear comfortable clothing and, crucially, shoes you can easily move and dance in!

The Wedding Day

We want everyone to feel wonderful and festive! For the main event on Saturday, we recommend choosing attire that is formal yet comfortable. The setting at Ballybeg House is beautifully rustic and natural, so feel free to reflect that in your style. Ladies might consider elegant dresses, jumpsuits, or midi/maxi outfits in bright summer colours or cheerful patterns. Gentlemen, we encourage you to opt for formal, comfortable clothing—there’s no need for a full suit.

As you get ready, we suggest keeping items like phones, wallets, or keys out of your trouser pockets to maintain a sharp look for photos.

Please note that the ceremony, weather permitting, will be held outdoors on the lawn; if the famous Irish weather brings rain, we will seamlessly move the proceedings indoors.

Practicality, Comfort, and the Irish Chill

While we want everyone to look their best, your comfort and practicality are equally important, especially given the setting and the dancing. Ballybeg features a mix of grass, gravel paths, and wooden decking, which are not friendly to thin stilettos. We strongly advise against high, thin heels, and suggest opting instead for sensible footwear like block heels, wedges, or dressy flats.

Furthermore, even if the daytime is sunny, the evenings in the Wicklow Mountains can become quite cool and damp once the sun sets. We kindly ask everyone to be prepared by bringing a shawl, stole, or a light jacket so you can comfortably enjoy the celebration and the evening outdoor mingling.
